This project was an exercise to help accustom me to the graphic design process. To start, I went down into Burlington, Vermont's South End area and began taking notes on at least 50 words that came to mind while visiting. After I returned from my visit, I would narrow down my words to roughly 3 or 5 that would build the foundation for the design. The words I chose were meant to reflect the colorful and artistic, yet industrial aspects of the area. For my design, I wanted to use a wide variety of colors to represent the artistry, with sharp and blocky shapes to represent the industry. Within some of the shapes include vectorized photographs I took as reference.
Alongside the poster pictured above, I also designed a two page spread featuring some of the same design elements. The story featured is one lifted from another source.
