Brand Guidelines
When I initially joined H.E. Callahan as their sole marketing team member, there had not been any set Brand Guidelines for me to adhere to for designs. Therefore, creating said guidelines would soon become my first task. My decisions for typefaces, fonts, and colors were influenced by the pre-existing design for the company's website, which I mirrored for consistency.
Additional Logo Designs
During my first year at the company, one of the notable events we experienced was our 75th anniversary. To commemorate the occasion, I was asked to design a new iteration of our logo. This version allowed me to tweak a few quirks in the original logo to make it more symmetrical. I had also been asked to create a variant to celebrate Pride Month in June for our social media accounts.
Social Media Posts
Being the company's sole member of the Marketing team, it was on me to design posts and manage our social media presence. There were many different aspects of our business we wanted to cover and share online. Our most frequent posts were Project and Team Spotlights discussing notable jobs we were working on and employees respectively. There would also be celebrations for annual events like Construction Safety or Small Business Week, as well as occasions such as grand openings for projects we worked on or pushes to reach out to contractors online. For a short time, I would also design posts in a similar fashion to our now-closed sister company, HEC+A.
